Teen’s Father Reacts To Him Coming Out As Gay: It’s ‘Worse Than Death’

So heartbreaking. A young teen courageously opened up to his family and told them all he was gay, but sadly his father tore him apart over it. He told his son he's 'embarrassed' and to 'stay away'. How cruel! A Vancouver-area boy named Tyler, 15, received a devastating reaction from his father after he came out as gay to his family. The dad sent him the most terrible messages, so Tyler decided to post them to his Tumblr account. Now, the teen is receiving tons of support from strangers.

Teen’s Father Says His Son Coming Out As Gay Is ‘Worse Than Death’

A conversation between a young teen and his father from last winter has gone viral. When the boy came out as gay to his family, he received nothing but support, except from his father.

Sadly, not only did Tyler’s father not support him, but he contacted him on Facebook and said brutal things. Tyler then posted the nasty conversation on his Tumblr page.

“We took care of you since you were a baby. We loved you, took care of you when you’re sick. Lost many days and nights in all your fifteen years. Now this is what we get in return, shame and embarrassment. If only you didn’t reject God and His teachings in your life you could have been strong enough to stay from evil and scums that surrounds you. Stay away.”

After Tyler’s dad sent the first couple of messages, the teen posted the screen shot, which enraged his father further.

“Take out your post from social media. You embarrass me from all the people I knew. I’m going to puke. Whatever you do it reflects on me. People will ridicule me, insult me, and I might turn out to be a criminal. I have enough of all this bulls***. You are trying to ruin me. This is worse than death.”

So terrible.

Tyler Receives Outpouring Support From Strangers

People all over are starting to hear about Tyler’s story and have taken to Twitter to support the teen. How wonderful!

All of the support is truly amazing. We hope Tyler remains strong and continues to find happiness in his life.
