We’re already scared! The first look at Kingpin from Netflix’s upcoming series ‘Daredevil’ has just been released, and it’s guaranteed to give you chills. Check it out!
The first season of the Marvel series Daredevil will drop on Apr. 10 (all at once– thanks Netflix!) and fans are pretty much dying to get a peek at the superhero thriller. Thankfully, we’ve just gotten our first peek at Vincent D’Onofrio, who will play Wilson Fisk, also known as Kingpin, and the source of some serious struggles for Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox)!
‘Daredevil’: Kingpin Has Arrived
Meet Wilson Fisk! Or, Kingpin if you prefer.
The shadowy figure behind organized crime in Hell’s Kitchen, Wilson Fisk has one mission in mind: to save Hell’s Kitchen by any means necessary, no matter the cost. This immediately puts him at odds with Matt Murdock’s vigilante alter-ego, who also seeks to protect the city – but sees the criminal element as the root of the city’s problems, according to Marvel.
Fisk truly believes he’s doing good for Hell’s Kitchen and at times may seem more of a hero to its people than Daredevil. Wilson Fisk is the perfect foil for Matt, and the two will collide dramatically.
Fighting Injustice By Night & Day
Daredevil will be Marvel’s first series produced for Netflix, but will likely not be the last. Three subsequent series have already been confirmed (though not necessarily for Netflix) including Marvel’s A.K.A. Jessica Jones, Marvel’s Iron Fist, and Marvel’s Luke Cage.
For those who are unfamiliar with Daredevil, it tells the story of Matt Murdock, who was blinded as a boy but has been gifted with extraordinary senses. Matt fights against injustice by day as a lawyer, and continues to do so in a whole other light at night through his alter ego “Daredevil” in Hell’s Kitchen, New York City.
What do you think of Vincent as Kingpin? Are you excited for the series?
