We love Duggar Tuesdays! On the new back-to-back episodes of ’19 Kids & Counting,’ we got the chance to finally see Jessa Duggar make her big decision on wedding gowns, and also Jill & Derick Dillard prepare for their new baby.
On the Feb. 24 back-to-back episodes of 19 Kids & Counting, the Duggar family prepares for multiple life changing events. Jessa Duggar made one of the biggest decisions when it comes to her wedding, while her older sister, Jill Duggar, took the next step in her pregnancy — visiting her midwife.
’19 Kids & Counting’ Recap: Jessa Falls In Love With Cinderella Dress
The first episode starts out with poor Ben wanting to tag along while his fiancée goes dress shopping. He even begs her to take some pictures in her dresses. But Jessa holds true to tradition and refuses. Instead, Ben’s mother and sisters filled in for him. They weren’t they only ones, Jessa had a van load of family members (12 to be exact) accompany her on the big event. Even the little girls got to join!
Jessa walked into the bridal shop with an idea about her dream gown, sleeves and a modest neckline. Her mother even joked that Jessa wants to just get in and find the dress and get out. Well, seeing that she is on a time crunch, that just may be the perfect route to take.
“Even though Jessa is not a starry-eyed bride-to-be, she still is my Jessa Blessa. And as I picture her walking down the aisle to be given away to Ben, I realize this is very special moment,” Michelle said.
As Jessa started to model the dresses for her family, she quickly fell in love with the second gown. It was a gorgeous blush pink Allure dress, that Ben’s mother called a “Cinderella” gown. Right away Jessa and her family knew that was the one!
One of the sweetest moments in this episode was when Michelle revealed that although it’s hard to watch her kids leave the nest, she couldn’t be more happier. “I couldn’t think of a better reason for my child to leave home, then to start their new life together with their best friend in the whole wide world.”
Jill & Derick Spend Quality Time With James
Although James’ chaperoning days are over, he still enjoys being with his big sister Jill and her husband — especially if it involves food! The little guy had to endure lots of baby talk, including hearing Jill discuss her morning sickness. He’s such a trooper!
Ben & Jessa Make More Decisions For The Wedding
The second episode started out with the newly engaged couple visiting the church that will be hosting their wedding. That’s when Jessa dropped the bomb that her and Ben are expecting over a thousand wedding guests! In her defense, that’s less than Jill’s.
The couple also decided that instead of cake, they would be having ice cream! Ben even joked, “We don’t want to offend any cake makers out there, but we are staring our new tradition.” The pair also decide to call on Josh to help design their wedding invites, which will help cut down costs for the wedding. But that’s not the only family member helping out. Jinger takes on the role of photographer and shoots the couple’s engagement photos.
There was one more thing Jessa was able to check off her list, bridesmaid dresses. All of the coral dresses arrived, but the girls had mixed feelings about them and weren’t afraid to say it. In the end, Jessa threw her hands up and was more than happy to let the girls order their own dresses. We don’t think that’s going to happen.
Jill & Derick Visit Their Midwife
Jill is 12 weeks along, so her and Derick think it’s the perfect time to check on baby Dillard. It’s a new role for Jill to be on the opposite end of midwifing. The happy couple got to hear their baby’s heartbeat for the first time and that solidified the fact that yes, there is a baby in there! The couple also made the decision to have a natural home birth delivery.
We can’t wait to see what’s in store for these Duggars next week!
