On the Feb. 22 episode of The Walking Dead we will finally find out what “good news” newcomer Aaron (Ross Marquad). However, what it seems all fans want to know is, is Aaron a good guy or a bad guy? Where did he come from? And, more importantly, how is he so clean?
‘The Walking Dead’ Preview: Who Is Aaron?
Alright, it’s time to figure out who this suspicious Aaron guy is and whether or not he really does have “good news” for Rick.
In the preview clip above we see that Rick has the group search Aaron once he’s inside the barn, and they find a flare gun which they automatically assume is to signal people who might be hiding out in the woods waiting to pounce.
Aaron doesn’t exactly make a good case for himself, because after Rick berates him and demands to know how many people are hiding outside of the cabin, he tells Rick it doesn’t matter. Aaron has realized that no matter what he says or does, Rick isn’t going to trust him. Uh oh!
However, the truth is that Aaron isn’t exactly someone that Rick and the group need to be afraid of. In fact, he really does have good news for them!
Aaron: A New Friend For Rick & Co.
Here’s the truth, straight out of The Walking Dead comics: Aaron is from the Alexandria Safe Zone. Let me repeat that for you: safe zone.
He’s also a recruiter in the comics, which explains why he’s the one who had to approach Rick’s group in order to tell them about the safe zone. Part of his job as a recruiter was to search for other survivors and “watch” them to see how they interacted with other survivors and their own pack, according to The Walking Dead Wiki.
Once Aaron is able to convince a group of survivors to come back to the Alexandria Safe Zone with him, their leader makes a decision on whether or not they get to stay.
So, is Rick really going to trust that Aaron is telling the truth about having a safe zone?
We’ll all have to tune in to a brand new episode of The Walking Dead on Sunday, Feb. 22 to find out!
