Kanye wrote an open letter to Fern Mallis, the woman who created New York Fashion Week, on Twitter Feb. 20 after she totally dissed him as a fashion designer.
Kanye West wants to set the record straight! The 37-year-old rapper posted a series of tweets after reading Fern Mallis‘ interview in the New York Post, which criticized his new clothing line for Adidas, Yeezy Season 1, and also his music. He says in the tweets that he has never called himself “a designer” and he seems to be really hurt by the fashion guru’s comments.
Kanye Responds To Harsh Fashion Critics: ‘I Don’t Call Myself A Designer’
This is what Kanye wrote on Twitter:
To Fern Mallis: I just want you to understand that attempting to do clothing has been very difficult and I have encountered countless amounts of bigotry along the way. I have millions of ideas and I represent a new generation just trying to express themselves in a broken world. I don’t call myself a designer as I was not allowed to go to Saint Martins because I was too famous by the time I realized I wanted to design. Fame is often looked down upon in the design world, so it’s actually been something I had to overcome. All we have are our dreams, and you can step on our dreams and ideas all you want, but we won’t stop fighting. We want to innovate and we will win someday. If you wanna have a drink with me, book a table at the spotted pig when I’m back in NY.
Wow, good for Kanye for speaking out. He’s on a roll these days, first he slammed Amber Rose for what she said in her radio interview about Kim Kardashian and now he’s defending his Adidas fashion line. We wonder if Fern will take him up on his offer to meet with him!
Kanye Dissed By Fashion Big Wigs
In case you didn’t know, this is what Fern said:
“I’m kind of over Kanye. I mean, I’m not a fan of his music, and the attitude and the agenda is not my style.”
HollywoodLifers, what do you think of Kanye’s response?
