From the world to the galaxy! A ‘Boy Meets World’ alum has just been tapped to lend their voice to Disney’s upcoming animated ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ series, and we couldn’t be more excited!
Move over, Eric Matthews! Will Friedle, best known for playing big brother to Cory on Boy Meets World, is set to take on the entire galaxy! The 38-year-old will voice Star-Lord (the character played famously by Chris Pratt in the live action film) in Disney XD’s animated series, Guardians of the Galaxy. We’ve got all the deets on the new series!
Will Friedle In ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’
This is awesome!
Though no official premiere date has been set for the Guardians of the Galaxy animated series, the cast is shaping up to be amazing. As we said, Will, who we last saw as a series regular on the 90s-tastic Boy Meets World (for you youngsters out there, please educate yourselves on this series), will play Star-Lord, also known as Peter Jason Quill.
As fans of the comic book know, Peter was born to a human mother and alien father and takes on the role of interplanetary policeman, Star-Lord.
‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’ Massive Success
Also joining Will in the cast of the animated Guardians of the Galaxy will be Kevin Michael Richardson, known for his work on Family Guy, as Groot and Trevor Devall playing Rocket Raccoon.
If the series fares half as well as the film which preceded it, it should be fine. The live action film, which was released in the summer of 2014, has grossed nearly $800 million in the six months since it opened.
The film also, memorably, made a massive movie star out of leading man Chris, and for that, we are infinitely thankful.
Are you guys excited for the Guardians of the Galaxy animated series?
