While the world continues to pray for Bobbi Kristina, the person she hit in a car crash — just days before she was found unconscious in her bathtub — ‘remains hospitalized,’ HollywoodLife.com has EXCLUSIVELY learned.
Four days before Bobbi Kristina Brown, 21, was found face down in her bathtub, she was involved in a car accident that sent Russell Eckerman to the hospital. Since then, he has remained in “serious condition” and “unable to speak.”
Bobbi Kristina Brown Car Crash Victim — He Remains Hospitalized & Unable To Speak
HollywoodLife.com spoke with the Eckerman family’s lawyer, Alan Herman, who opened up about his client’s condition.
“He (Russ) remains hospitalized. The family has asked me to convey to you their wish for his privacy,” Mr. Alan Herman tells Hollywoodlife.com EXCLUSIVELY.
According to Roswell, Georgia police, Bobbi Kristina was driving a Jeep Liberty with her friend, Danyela Da Silva Bradley, when she lost control of the vehicle and collided with a Ford Taurus, which was being driven by Russell Eckerman.
Russ was taken to North Fulton Hospital immediately after the accident on Jan. 27. His mother, Bert Eckerman, spoke about the accident to ABC News.
“Russell is a great, caring son, and this was a terrible tragedy. He was on his way to work when he was met with this tragic incident. Please respect our privacy as we pray and wait for Russ to heal,” Bert said.
Bobbi Kristina told police that she had a blown tire, yet she was charged with “failure to maintain a lane.”
“I have known the Eckerman family for the past 33 years and am very sorry that this incident has occurred. Russell used to babysit for my children when they were youngsters. Russell was on his way to work when this incident occurred. He has been hospitalized since the date of the occurrence and has been unable to speak. His medical condition as I understand it, is serious, but everyone is hopeful that he will recover and get back to being Russell,” Mr. Herman revealed to ABC News.
This is not the first time Bobbi Kristina has lost control of her car. In Nov. 2012, she crashed her car after going over a curb and smashing into an embankment.
Our prayers go out to Russ Eckerman and his family during this difficult time.
