Sir Paul McCartney gave a simple yet heartwarming performance of his classic song ‘Maybe I’m Amazed’ during ‘Saturday Night Live’s 40th anniversary special. We are amazed by his outstanding performance!
Paul McCartney proves he still has the music in him at age 72! The iconic musician took the stage during Saturday Night Live‘s 40th anniversary special on Feb. 15 and sang his heart out for “Maybe I’m Amazed” in a beautiful, stripped down piano performance.
Paul McCartney’s ‘SNL 40’ Performance — Sings ‘Maybe I’m Amazed’
Paul was introduced by The Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards, which was a very special moment as the two men from very different, yet iconic music groups were on stage together — what a perfect lead in!
Paul’s piano performance was simple, but it was enough to capture our hearts. He also managed to hit some of those high notes, too, which is pretty impressive! But the performance shouldn’t be focused all on his voice, but rather on the well-respected musician shine on stage yet again for a special ceremony.
To add even more sentiment to Paul’s performance, images were flashed on a screen behind him of Paul in his younger days, including some pics with The Beatles! That really tugged at our heartstrings.
Earlier in the night, Paul also dueted with Paul Simon on “I’ve Just Seen A Face” with clips from very early SNL history shown. It’s pretty safe to say Paul rocked the SNL 40 stage!
