Charles Manson Wedding Off: Engagement To Afton Elaine Burton Cancelled
As an ardent Helter Skelter devotee, it seems that Elaine, who is 53 years younger than her former fiance, wanted to marry Charles for his legacy instead of true love.
Charles reportedly called off his plans to marry Elaine after learning that she and her friends were planning to profit from his death one day by putting his corpse on public display according to the New York Post.
As Charles’ future widow, Elaine planned to run a business by flaunting her former fiance to those who were fascinated with the twisted man behind the cult that carried out a series of murders in 1969.
But, it seems like that the convicted cold-blooded murderer got a case of cold feet. As a result, Charles, who has already spent more than 40 years in jail, could die in Corcoran State Prison sans wife.

As we previously reported, the former couple filed for a marriage license on Nov. 7, which gave them 90 days to get married.
Elaine would have had to say “I do” during one of Charles’ visiting days, but now it seems like she won’t be visiting him anytime soon.
Before Charles called off his wedding, Elaine had invested more than a decade in her diehard infatuation with him. The pair apparently first met when she was just 17 years old and she also moved near Corcoran State Prison to be closer to him.
Additionally, Elaine runs Manson’s fan site, mansondirect.com, as well as his official Facebook page.
“I’m completely with him, and he’s completely with me. It’s what I was born for, you know. I don’t know what else to say,” she revealed to CNN back in August.
Well, it seems like Elaine’s life plan to preserve Charles’ legacy and body has changed!
