Kanye made a heartfelt apology to Taylor during a commercial break at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards on Feb. 8. Six years after he infamously interrupted her acceptance speech at the 2009 VMA’s, the rapper finally made amends. But what did he say?
Kanye West, 37, has once again made headlines for dissing a popular musician at an awards show. Now as everyone focuses on his unfortunate comments concerning Beck, a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that only an hour earlier, the rapper had made a heartfelt apology to his previous victim, Taylor Swift, 25.
Taylor Swift: Kanye West Apologizes At The Grammys Six Years After Diss
After six years of tension, Kanye melted the ice between himself an Taylor.
“Kanye made the first move approaching Taylor with open arms,” an insider tells HollywoodLife.com. “He was so sweet and charming when they spoke. He complimented her on her success and praised her latest album. He told her she deserved every bit of it and was sorry for the incident in 2009.
“Taylor didn’t even mind when he seemingly made a joke out of interrupting Beck on stage.”
Unfortunately, Kanye’s good deed was lost in a sea of bad publicity after he went on a rant about Beyonce, Beck and The Grammys.
Taylor Upset At Kanye For Dissing Beck At Grammys
Taylor was shocked just like the rest of us when history almost repeated itself as Kanye pretended to interrupt Beck’s acceptance speech, much like he did to her at the VMA’a in 2009. But it was no joking matter after the show when he vented to E! that Beyonce, 33, not Beck, deserved the Album of the Year award!
“That was really a letdown for Taylor,” a source tells HollywoodLife.com. “Her first thought was, ‘Oh no, not again!’ It’s like he can’t help himself from sticking his foot in his mouth.
“Taylor feels Beck’s achievements and his experience are being tainted because of Kanye and his massive ego. She thinks Kanye really is a nice guy deep down and doesn’t do these things maliciously but he needs to stop putting his ego above everyone else. It’s just selfish!”
