She’s so fancy and we definitely already know it, but we’re not sure how to feel about Iggy Azalea’s bold look at the Grammy Awards! Iggy had a braided hairdo that made quite the statement on the red carpet.
Iggy Azalea, 24, has been know to rock some bold and controversial looks and this one, at the 2015 Grammys in Los Angeles, Calif. on Feb 8, was no exception. Iggy rocked a bold milkmaid braid that wrapped all the way around her head and parted down the back of her head. Though the look may be divisive, we loved it and think only Iggy could have pulled this look off.
Iggy Azalea At Grammy Awards — Love Or Loathe Her Bold Braid?
If anyone knows how to make a statement, it’s Iggy. Case in point, the funky milkmaid braid she wore to the 2015 Grammy Awards. Iggy’s braid was done by her hairstylist Ursula Stephen. And while it’s been a minute since we’ve seen the milkmaid braid, we’re certainly glad to see it’s making a comeback!
We think that the braid was a perfect compliment to Iggy’s stunning blue gown and that she pulled off the bold look 100 percent.
Iggy Azalea’s Braid — Get The Look
If you’re interested in trying to get Iggy’s look on your own, don’t be intimidated! While the braid looks complicated, it’s actually pretty easy once you break the look down.
Here’s how to get the look, directly from her hairstylist Ursula!
“I’ve always been a fan of braids and they are such a trend right now. Iggy wears braids so well and she likes to wear her hair up and away from her face — especially while performing. So, I wanted to give her something fun and easy. When I saw her dress for the Grammy’s, I thought it was beautiful. The silhouette was classic and I felt going with a classic up do would have been very predictable. I wanted to give her a young vibe with a sprinkle of edge, for a memorable moment.”
Here’s the how to:
“Part the hair in two even sections.
Cornrow both sides of the hair, starting from the nape of the head. On you fingertips use a pomade, like Motions Shine Enhancing Pomade for a sleek finish.
Secure each braids with rubber bands.
Pull each segment of the braid beginning at the bottom to loosen and puff the braids.
Next overlap the two braid to join them and pin to keep in place.
To finish spray with Motions Light working spritz.”
