Juanes’ Grammy Performance — Colombian Star Sings ‘Juntos’ In Spanish
After being introduced by Jane The Virgin‘s Gina Rodriguez, 30, Juanes, 42, looked so sexy in his all denim outfit while jamming out on his guitar.
With the Colombian heart-throb’s universal appeal, it was about time that the Grammys tapped a Latin artist to sing an entire song in Spanish stateside and we enjoyed every second of it!
Juanes might have two Grammy Awards and 20 Latin Grammy Awards under his belt, but his Feb. 8 performance was surreal for the international star.
“I’ve been waiting for this moment for many years…” Juanes told the Associated Press on Feb. 2.
Juanes Inspired By ‘McFarland, USA’ To Write ‘Juntos’
Before Juanes brought his Spanish flair to the Staples Center, the The Best Latin Pop Album Grammy nominee was originally tapped by Disney to create a song for the upcoming movie, McFarland, USA, starring Kevin Costner.
As a result, “Juntos” was born and after we watched Juanes perform his hit at the Grammys we are excited to see the family friendly movie.
McFarland, USA tells the story of a cross-country coach (Kevin Costner) who helps lead a group of young Latin-American immigrants. It’s also been a meaningful musical journey for Juanes who was inspired by the story according to the AP.
“It touched my heart in a very positive way, in a very deep way. It’s a very inspiring story,” revealed the singer.
Well, Juanes you touched our hearts at the Grammy Awards and we can’t wait to see more from you this year!
