Wow, such an incredible year for Jack O’Connell! The budding star received the honor of ‘Rising Star Award’ at the British Academy Film Awards on Feb. 8.
Definitely a huge career milestone for Jack O’Connell, 24! The young actor took home the Rising Star Award at the BAFTAs on Feb. 8, following a year full of plenty of great contributions to the film industry including his role in Unbroken and 300: Rise of an Empire.

Such a wonderful moment for Jack! The young star took home the huge honor of Rising Star at the BAFTA Awards on Feb. 8. This award was definitely deserved after an incredible year full of plenty of big career moments including his role in Unbroken.
In the film Jack plays Louis Zamperini in the Angelina Jolie directed film about a plane crash in WWII that leaves Louis and two others stranded for 47 days in a raft before they are caught by the Japanese navy.
Jack accepted the publicly decided honor looking extremely handsome in a classic black tux with tails and squared black shoes — loved his look!
This years nominees were all deserving and were major players in the film industry. The nominees included, Margot Robbie, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Miles Teller and Shailene Woodley.
Jack Opens Up About His Huge Year
Just a few years ago Jack was facing prison time, but now he has a different outlook on life and has had an incredibly successful year. He told The Guardian, “I consider myself an adult these days because I think a lot clearer now,” he said.
“There’s not much conflict going on like there was. And I’ve sort of been inspired by achieving a more selfless attitude. As a kid you just think about yourself, don’t ya? Try and better your situation for you. But I’m sort of inspired now by a different outlook.”
