Bobbi’s $20 million fortune could be left to Nick on a couple conditions. HollywoodLife.com spoke to an expert source who reveals the ‘complicated issues at play’ if in fact Bobbi and Nick are legally married.
If Bobbi Kristina Brown passes away, Nick Gordon is not yet totally out of the picture of receiving her $20 million fortune. Nick, who claims to be Bobbi’s husband, could be the sole inheritor of her fortune if they are indeed married or if Whitney Houston set aside certain guidelines in her will, according to HollywoodLife.com‘s expert source. Here’s what we know.
Bobbi Kristina Brown’s Estate: Is Nick Gordon Inheriting Her Money?
“Unless Nick produces a marriage certificate, or Whitney Houston named Nick as a beneficiary (i.e. – adopted child) in her own will or trust should he survive Bobbi, then Mr. Gordon will take nothing if Bobbi does not survive her medically induced coma,” Mychal Wilson, a Los Angeles attorney, tells HollywoodLife.com.
As we previously reported, Bobby Brown’s lawyer released a statement on Feb. 3 that Bobbi and Nick were not legally married. Bobbi has also claimed that her mom never adopted Nick, despite speculation.
“However, there are several complicated issues at play. For example, if Nick and Bobbi are married, and she does not survive her medically induced coma, and there is not a will or trust, then under Georgia law, Nick (as a spouse with presumably no descendants), will inherit all of Bobbi’s estate,” Mychal continues.
Now that Nick is reportedly the subject of a criminal investigation, Bobbi’s family has allegedly banned Nick from seeing her since she moved hospitals.
“Nick hasn’t been to visit Bobbi since she moved to this hospital,” an insider told Us Weekly. “I think he’s banned from seeing her. Nick spent the entire first day with her, but hasn’t been back to see her.”
Our thoughts continue to go out to Bobbi and her family during this devastating time.
