Whitney Houston left her $20 million fortune to her daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, when she passed away in 2012. But now that Bobbi’s fate is dire after drowning in a bathtub on Jan. 31, someone else may be inheriting that money. Will it be her ‘husband,’ Nick Gordon? Find out.
If Bobbi Kristina Brown, 21, passes away, the $20 million fortune that her late mother, Whitney Houston, left her, will be handed off to someone else. Whitney Houston Estate: Who Will Inherit Bobbi Kristina Brown’s Money If She Dies
Bobbi inherited 10 percent (about $2 million) when she turned 21. She would inherit another 15 percent when she turns 25 before receiving the remainder at 30.
But if Bobbi Kristina, who is in a medically induced coma after being found face down in a bathtub in her Georgia home on Jan. 31, dies, the money will go to Cissy and her two sons, Michael and Gary, according to the will.
As far as Nick is concerned, the family may face a battle for the money if he claims he was married to Bobbi Kristina.
Whitney took Nick in as a child and raised him alongside Bobbi Kristina. After Whitney passed away, they started a romantic relationship and even claimed to be married in 2014.
“#HappilyMarried So #Inlove,” Bobbi Kristina wrote on social media, alongside an image of their wedding bands.
Nick Gordon & Bobbi Kristina Brown Married? Bobby Brown Says They Never Were
This week, however, Bobbi’s father, Bobby Brown, released a statement, saying they had never been married.
“We are currently investigating the events that led to the hospitalization of Bobbi Kristina,” Bobby’s lawyer, Christopher Brown, said on Feb. 3. “To correct earlier reports, Bobbi Kristina is not and has never been married to Nick Gordon.”
If Nick can prove he was married to Bobbi, he can inherit her estate, according to the Daily News.
