Katy Perry is getting ready to open up! The singer just performed at the Super Bowl halftime show and now she is gearing up for a super emotional performance at the Grammy Awards on Feb. 8, where she will sing her ballad, ‘By the Grace of God.’
Katy Perry, 30, is ready to take the 57th annual Grammy Awards by storm and open up about her divorce from Russell Brand, 39. The stunning pop-star will sing “By the Grace of God” — which was seemingly written as a slight diss following the former couples split — while domestic violence survivor Brooke Axtell, 34, will reportedly perform a spoken-word piece.
Russell Brand: Katy Perry’s Grammy Diss 2015 By Singing “By the Grace of God”
Katy is definitely getting ready to show a different side of her music. The usual up-beat performing will tone it down and sing her ballad, “By the Grace of God,” People reports.
Brooke, who is Austin Texas-based activist told the publication, “It’s an honor to collaborate with Katy in this way. She has been very devoted to various aspects of female empowerment,” Brooke said. “It’s going to bring a lot of encouragement and freedom to those who hear my story and know that they are not alone in this.”
Katy has revealed the pain that she went through following her divorce and even questioned whether or not she wanted to continue to live and now she is ready to show the pain on-stage. The singer oped up to Billboard back in 2013 about her powerful ballad, “That song is evident of how tough it really was at a certain point. I asked myself, ‘Do I want to endure? Should I continue living?’ All the songs are real-life moments.”
Russell Brand — Tweets About Halftime Performance
As HollywoodLife.com previously reported, right before Katy was about to take the stage at the Super Bowl, Russell tweeted about the upcoming performance.
“Super Bowl may be baffling to Brits but half time show will be amazing. Good luck KP,” Russell tweeted. While the tweet was seemingly nice, it appears that Katy is still going to go ahead with performing her emotional song. Even if it will be a slight diss towards her ex, by teaming up with Brooke this performance will definitely be extremely powerful.
