Get ready — Ariana’s ex Nathan is spilling the beans about his relationship with Ari in a very ’emotional’ song off his solo debut album! The singer teased his new track and revealed how he thinks Ariana will respond to it.
It’s official! Nathan Sykes, 21, will be singing about his relationship with Ariana Grande, 21, on his debut solo album! The Wanted band member opened up in a new interview on Feb. 2 and talked about how his breakup with Ariana inspired a song about her — and whether it will be about his hard feelings for her.
Ariana Grande: Nathan Sykes’ New Song Is All About Their Breakup
Nathan’s solo album is set to come out later this year, and while we wait, the British cutie confirmed Ari inspired the most emotional track.
“One of the songs is about Ariana. She hasn’t heard it yet. Knowing Ari she’ll corner me the next time we bump into each other and demand I play her the song,” Nathan said to the Daily Star.
“It is a nice song. She has nothing to worry about. I’m not scared of her reaction,” Nathan continues. “It’s very complimentary and emotional actually. She will hear it and think ‘Oh so you do have feelings’.”
Whoa — it seems like Nathan gave major indication that things didn’t end well because he was emotionally distant from her. Nathan sure isn’t giving Ari the cold shoulder anymore, and it seems like he’s even nostalgic for the way things were with her!
Nathan previously hinted that he was writing a song about Ariana, and further dished on the complicated factors in their relationship.
Furthermore, Nathan revealed that there’s no “bad blood” between them, which we’re so happy to hear.
“And there’s no bad blood. She’s a lovely girl,” Nathan said. “We split because of the long-distance thing. There was that amazing moment at the start of the relationship where we both convinced ourselves, ‘Yeah, long distance won’t matter. It will be fine.’ But it was impossible.”
