Talk about a tough choice! Richard Sherman could be faced with a big decision come Super Bowl Sunday. The Seahawks player’s girlfriend is pregnant — and could go into labor at any moment.
This is an exciting time for the pro football player, Richard Sherman, 26, who is gearing up to play in one of the biggest games of his life, Super Bowl XLIX. There’s just one problem, his girlfriend, Ashley Moss, is about to give birth to their first child. That means this little boy just may come during his dad’s big game!
Richard Sherman: Seahawks Player May Miss Big Game
Arrangements have been made with a Phoenix-area hospital if that becomes necessary, but Richard seems to have faith that his little boy will make his arrival after the Super Bowl.
He told Fox Sports, “He’s going to be a disciplined young man and stay in there. He’s going to do his father his first favor.”
But Richard also knows worrying about the chance his son comes earlier than expected won’t help.
“We’ll cross that bridge when we get there,” he told the press on Super Bowl media day. “We’re not thinking about the possibility.”
As for what he will decide, well that’s up to Richard and his girlfriend. But, his coach and teammates support whatever decision he makes!
It’s great to hear that Richard has the support of his team, isn’t it?
Richard Is Ready For Both The Big Game And His Son
Richard may be a little stressed over the possibility of having to make such a tough decision, but knows there’s a lot more riding on him when it comes to being a dad.
“It’s someone that actually depends on you for everyday living,” he said.
“Everything they do is dependent on you and how you provide and how successful you are. As a parent, you want to set a great example for them, so I guess, to a degree, a lot of things are riding on it.”
Hopefully baby Sherman understands his dad has a huge game to play and waits until Monday to arrive!
Whatever happens, this will be one memorable week for Richard and his girlfriend.
