In today’s heartbreaking news, we say goodbye to ‘Parenthood’ for good on Jan. 29. To prepare for the event, we’ve got some pics of the show’s final moments– but, warning, be prepared to cry your eyes out!
We’ve had six tear-filled years together with NBC’s family drama Parenthood, but alas, all good things must come to an end. The series finale, “May God Bless and Keep You,” is sure to be a humdinger, featuring the family coming together in honor of Sarah (Lauren Graham) and Hank’s (Ray Romano) wedding, as well as the birth of Amber’s (Mae Whitman) baby. We know, you’re sobbing already!
‘Parenthood’ Series Finale Pics: Prepare For Tears
Throughout its six seasons, Parenthood has made us cry humongous tears of both happiness and devastation.
With the series finale on Jan. 29, we can probably expect both. With new lives coming into the world, and the potential for others to leave it– Zeek (Craig T . Nelson), don’t you dare die on us– our only advice is to have a big ol’ box of tissues on hand.
In an interview with our sister site TV Line, series writer Sarah Watson confirmed that necessity. “It continues with what the mood has always been: bittersweet,” Sarah said. “That’s the best way to describe this show. They’re a family, they love each other and they come together. We’re going to see painful things and wonderful things.”
Though the series was never a ratings smash, it has remained a critical hit, fiercely beloved by a niche but vocal audience which has kept the show coming back season after season despite the minimal ratings.
Part of the show’s success has been in part due to the stellar cast which, along with TV vets Lauren and Ray, includes Dax Shepard, Monica Potter, and Erika Christensen.
