Liam Hemsworth To Star In ‘Independence Day’ Sequel
Congrats are in order!
Back in January, Liam had been given an offer to star in the remake of Independence Day, titled ID Forever, according to TheWrap. Now, the news is official!
The film will be directed by Roland Emmerich, who shared the exciting casting news on Twitter.
“Excited to Officially announce @LiamHemsworth and #JeffGoldblum as the next two pieces of the #IndependenceDay sequel,” Roland Tweeted on Mar. 3.
Along with Liam and Jeff, Jessie Usher has been confirmed to headline the film, playing the role originated by Will.
The original film, which grossed over $300 million when it opened nearly 20 years ago, depicts the fight against aliens who are descending upon earth with the intent to destroy, and the only weapon for survival is the sheer human will to do so.
Liam’s History With Miley Cyrus
Liam certainly made waves with his role in the massive hit, The Hunger Games, but he’s also heated up the headlines due to his romantic past with one Ms. Miley Cyrus, 22. The two publicly dated a few years back, and Liam was actually Miley’s first love. Though she’s moved on to find new love with current boyfriend Patrick Schwarzenegger, apparently the two still love one another.
It’s okay, Liam! At least you might have a major movie to distract you pretty soon!
Would you guys be happy to see Liam starring in the Independence Day sequel?
