Rachel (Lea Michele) definitely deserves happiness, following the heartbreaking death of Finn/Cory Monteith, but she shouldn’t have been kissing Sam (Chord Overstreet) on the Jan. 23 episode of Glee. Everything about this is oh so wrong! Even worse, Blaine (Darren Criss) found out he’s related to his boyfriend, Dave Karofsky, and Kurt (Chris Colfer) went on a date with a 50-year-old Harry Hamlin. (Lisa Rinna, where you at?)
We definitely love us some Glee, but tonight’s episode was all over the place. And it all started with a plastic fork.
Sue (Jane Lynch) got all bent out of shape when Mr. Schue (Matthew Morrison) came back to McKinley High for a visit. When he forgot to throw out his plastic fork, she went ballistic. Then, she revealed a storage locker, which she likes to call her “hurt locker.” Inside, is a wall full of photos of her biggest enemies — kind of like Regina’s burn book in Mean Girls. Shockingly, Sue also has a shrine dedicated to Klaine. (When did she become such a fan of Kurt and Blaine as a couple?) And she said she wants to try and get them back together (What?!). So she does everything in her power to break Blaine and Karofsky up, including proving they’re related. (Ew.)
On the other hand, Kurt seems to finally be moving on from Blaine — or at least trying to. He went on a date with a guy he met online (Harry Hamlin), who happens to be in his 50’s. The guy totally lied about his age, but Kurt agreed to see where things go. While watching this super awkward scene, I kept hoping Harry’s real life wife and Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, Lisa Rinna, would pop out and say it’s “whack-a-doodle time. It is whack-a-doodle time.”
Anyway, Sue hypnotized Sam in an effort to get him to sabotage Mr. Schue (I’m assuming because of the fork?). And during that time, he also hung out with Rachel and tried helping her learn how to play the piano. Oh, they also went on a “non-date” to Breadstix, but it was totally a date in our eyes. Rachel even said it “felt good” to hang out with a guy alone — something she hasn’t done in a very long time. (Aw — we miss Finn!)
Later on, they sang Vanessa Carlton‘s “A Thousand Miles” and when they finished, Rachel gave Sam a sexy gaze, so he leaned in for a kiss. Part of me loved it, but a bigger part of me hated it. Why, oh why?! I love both Rachel and Sam, but not together. (I’m still hoping for Sam and Blaine to hook up, by the way!) And I can’t picture Rachel with anyone except Finn. Unless, of course, Jonathan Groff reprises his role as Jesse St. James. That, I’d be okay with.
The next day, Rachel asked Sam out on an official date, but he declined because he’s still in love with Mercedes (Amber Riley).
This is just so shocking. But we want to know how you feel!
What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Should Rachel and Sam date? Were you shocked when they kissed? Tell us how you feel!
