Now this is how ‘Glee’ should be going out! Jonathan Groff sat down for an interview on Jan. 22 and dropped a major hint that there is a possibility Jesse St. James is returning for the finale of ‘Glee!’
Could Lea Michele‘s bestie make the big return to Glee? Well, it sounds possible (everyone else has!). The season wraps in mid-February, so there’s definitely a chance for Jonathan Groff AKA Jesse St. James to head back to McKinley, and — dare I say it — end up with Rachel in the end.
‘Glee’: Jesse St. James Returning?
While promoting his new show, Looking, Jesse headed on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live and luckily, a viewer called in with the question we needed the answer to. Would he be returning to Glee?
“Maybe…yeah, I don’t know,” Jonathan shyly said. “I don’t know, that’s—that’s definitely a possibility.” Hmm, sounds suspicious to us! Andy Cohen of course pressed him. “Maybe you do know but you can’t say,” and Jonathan smiled, responding with, “Maybe I do know but I can’t say.”
That sounds like a yes in my book! While I personally feel that Rachel should end up alone at the end of Glee — if she’s going to live happily ever after with someone, it should be Jesse (and then they can run away to Broadway and do Spring Awakenings together).
Who Else Will Return?
Of course we’re wondering who else will make the return for the finale and Rachel’s mom comes to mind. Idina Menzel has quite a busy schedule with her Broadway show, If Then and performing on Feb. 1 at the Super Bowl in Phoenix.
However, her Broadway show is taking a week-long hiatus from Jan. 27 to Feb. 1 for her to prep for her National Anthem performance. But it’s Idina Menzel… does she really need week to prep one song? My thoughts are no. Rachel’s “Let It Go” performance was definitely foreshadowing!
Please let Rachel and Shelby reunite for one more performance — who knows, maybe it could be at Rachel and Jesse’s engagement party. One can hope right? What do you think, HollywoodLifers?
