‘West Wing Reunion’: Cast Reunites To Promote Big Block of Cheese Day
The video starts out with Josh getting a call, and of course his ringtone is Usher‘s “Yeah.” He jumps onto a conference call with the West Wing cast members to discuss the big day.
The West Wing featured the story of President Andrew Jackson‘s historical Big Block of Cheese Day in season one. President Jackson literally placed a two-ton block of cheese in the foyer of the White Housein 1897 and invited people to come in and eat the block of cheese while interacting with the White House staff.
On the show, President Bartlet (Martin), creates an annual event much like Jackson’s, where interest groups who don’t normally have the opportunity to speak up, get to mingle with White House staffers.
So “BYOC” — bring your own cheese — for the virtual event, taking place on Jan. 21. It can be accessed through wh.gov/cheeseday and by using the hashtag, #ASKTHEWH. This is an opportunity to chat with senior advisors, the White House Press Secretary, and the Communications Director about relevant issues in our country — a guaranteed gouda time.
