Simone Battle GRL Lighthouse Tribute Video
Fans and friends were devastated to learn that former X Factor star Simone had died last year. The talented singer and actress seemed to have everything going for her, including being a part of the rising girl group G.R.L.
The sudden loss must have been hard for everyone who was close to Simone, especially her group members. To honor the singer, the group released a special song and video for Simone called “Lighthouse.” Featuring photos and footage of Simone smiling and laughing, it definitely pulls at the heartstrings.
A Tragic Loss
Simone first got her break on the 2011 season of The X Factor, in which she was a finalist. After the show, she was part of the formation of G.R.L., a group similar to The Pussycat Dolls.
Tragically, on Sept. 5, 2014, Simone was found dead in her home as the result of an apparent suicide. Following her death, Simone’s father, Anthony E. Battle, told MailOnline that Simone “will be greatly missed and loved. She was an exuberant person and a very loved person.”
So heartbreaking. Our thoughts and love go out to Simone’s family, G.R.L., and all those who are still grieving the star.
