DASH Diet — How It Works So You Can Lose Weight In 2015
The overall purpose of the DASH Diet is “preventing and lowering high blood pressure (hypertension).”
The diet focuses on a balanced diet of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean protein and low-fat diary. Emphasis is placed on nutrients like potassium, calcium, protein and fiber.
The diet doesn’t restrict entire food groups, but says you should limit or eliminate high-calorie and high-fat foods like sweats and red meat. Limiting salt is also recommended.
The diet is said to be great for your heart and nutritionally sound, but can cost a lot of time and money.
