Ben Affleck was Awarded the Favorite Humanitarian Award at the 2015 People’s Choice Awards and his speech might make you cry!
It turns out, Ben Affleck, 42, is just as beautiful on the inside as he is on the outside! At the People’s Choice Awards on Jan. 7, the Gone Girl actor was awarded the top prize for Favorite Humanitarian. The superstar was present to accept the honor, and he gave a gorgeous speech (and looked amazing while doing it)!
Ben Affleck Wins People’s Choice Award
Amy Adams was on hand at the Jan. 7 People’s Choice Awards to present her pal Ben with the award for Favorite Humanitarian. After speaking, we were shown a pretaped montage depicting Ben getting to do the charity work that he loves.
When Ben took the stage to accept the award, his speech was absolutely beautiful. He began by humbly admitting that he’d “been called a lot of things in my life,” before getting serious. “The one way to combat the terrible things we see is to bring a little bit of kindness into the world,” he said.
He concluded the speech by accepting the award on behalf of the people of Eastern Congo Initiative.
Just when we though we couldn’t love him any more than we already did!
Ben’s Humanitarian Work
Ben’s humanitarian work was recognized at The People Choice Awards, and it’s very clear why. Most of his charity efforts over the last few years have been through Eastern Congo Initiative, which he himself founded. The organization helps to provide grants and investments to supply the people of Congo opportunities for social and economic success.
Ben’s generosity matches his talent! Congratulations to the kind-hearted star!
Ben is only the third person ever to win this special award. Previous winners include Sandra Bullock, who won in 2013, and Jennifer Hudson, who won last year.
