‘The Celebrity Apprentice’ squeezed two episodes together on Jan. 5, but it’s outcome didn’t make many people happy – did the right people go home?
This week’s Celebrity Apprentice was really great for one team — and left the other team missing two members. From menstrual cycles to inappropriate sex jokes, the claws were definitely out this week. So Vortex and Infinity took on two challenges: the first was to write, direct and star in a commercial for Neat products; then the second, the teams had to set up a food tasting for Luvo’s frozen meals — and stay professional.
Part 1 — The Geraldo Show
Let’s start off with the first half of the episode: for the men’s team, it was time for Kevin Jonas to shine. He took charge as the project manager, and immediately gave out tasks; of course, he avoided Geraldo Rivera at first after her rudely wouldn’t get off the phone during a client meeting.
So, when it came time for a voice over, they reached out to Mike Rowe — which offended Geraldo. This led to him interrupting more and bickering with Kevin. However, when it came time to present, he was professional and it went smoothly. Even when entering the board room, Kevin had nothing bad to say about Geraldo — at first.
For the ladies, if you tuned in a few minutes in, you’d think that Leeza Gibbons was the project manager — but really, Kate Gosselin was. Sean Johnson took the table and pitched a great idea when Kate couldn’t think of anything and Brandi Glanville and Leeza began organizing as well.
It’s Board Room Time
Kevin was more than positive, and really was promoting his team — even Geraldo. He couldn’t even say who should get fired. However, it wasn’t so friendly with the girls. When Kate was asked who should get fired, she suggested Brandi since she panicked. But none of that mattered — the women won, giving Kate $40,000 to her charity, Camp Barnabas.
Kevin had to make the choice of who to bring in. Not surprisingly, he brought in Geraldo but he did bring in his BFF, Ian Ziering. Together, they tried to convince Donald that Geraldo with his “neat, sweet” line had to go. However, when Kevin was asked if Ian should go home instead of Kevin, he said yes. And still, Ian had Kevin’s back. Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough and after bringing in the wrong person — Kevin was sent home. Let’s just say, the teams were not so happy.
Part 2: Love Yourself One Bite At A Time
Next up, the teams were assigned to produce a tasting featuring Luvo’s frozen food, and present the dishes.
For the ladies, Vivica A. Fox stepped up and came up with quite the catch phrase with Kenya Moore‘s help: “Love yourself one bite at a time.” While not everyone seemed too thrilled (Shawn used the get out of gym class excuse: I have my period), but Vivica stuck to her guns. When Shawn didn’t start the microwave on time, Vivica kept the crowd entertained, and did a great job of staying organized. There was a little kitchen dramz between Kenya (who acted like “Oprah”) and Jamie Anderson. I just wanted Kenya to pull out a fan.
Terrell Owens stepped up for the men, and definitely let Geraldo help a lot: which was a good move. It definitely seemed like the men had much more fun, and it actually helped. Until it was time for Gilbert Gottfried to come out — instead of keeping it simple, he used a sex joke which was super awkward! “I have two children. I look at them every day as a miracle. The miracle is, A WOMAN HAD SEX WITH ME TWICE,” he joked. Crickets.
It’s Board Room Time: Period Talk
The claws were out! Vivica actually told Donald Trump that she would take Geraldo on her team to get rid of Shawn, who in her eyes, checked out because she didn’t feel well. Of course, the women had a lot of animosity, and ended up talking a lot about periods and awkwardness. However, none of the drama mattered — because they took the W on the challenge. Vivica won $50,000 for Best Buddies.
For the men, it was pretty drama free, except that it was time for Donald to fire someone. Terrell brought back in Gilbert and Geraldo, but when it came down to it, Gilbert’s comment was funny but was at the wrong place and wrong time — and he was fiyahd, as Don says.
