We never know what Kathy is going to say next, but the her most recent cheeky moment will definitely warm your heart. When Joan Rivers died at age 81, it left the question open of who would fill Joan’s spot on The Fashion Police. Kathy has brought her style and sass to the show, and she honored her successor and old friend by boldly wearing the fur Dennis Basso that once belonged to “her dear, departed friend” on CNN in for New Year’s Eve.
When Anderson Cooper asked his co-host why she’s wearing real fur, she said:
“Because I love Joan and she had it made for her in 1980,” Griffin said. “So, you can apologize for that but I won’t.”
Whether you’re a fur lover or not, you have to love the way that Kathy paid homage to her friend!
“It actually is inscribed—it says, ‘Joan Rivers,'” said Kathy. “So in honor of my pal, I am decked out in the Dennis Basso and actual Joan coat and I’ve been with Joan when she would wear it.”
Not only is this a sweet gesture, but it is a great fashion statement. Fur is back and bigger than ever and don’t worry, there are plenty of fabulous faux fur pieces to shop from.
