Keith Urban was one of many A-listers to fill Nashville’s Schermerhorn Symphony Center for the fifth annual CMT’s Artists of the Year special — and he stood out! The country crooner was honored after a stellar year and then totally rocked the stage.
Keith performed a soulful rendition of James Brown‘s “This Is A Man’s World.” He swayed around on stage and played his electric guitar perfectly. He’s so sexy!
CMT’s Arists of the Year is much different than other country shows — the honorees are not just talented singers but also those who have a sincere dedication to music. Clearly Keith fits into that mold, along with the four other honorees: Miranda Lambert, Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line and Jason Aldean.
In a recent interview with CMT, Keith even admitted that if he didn’t earn A-list success from his music, “I’d be somewhere else. I’d be playing some club somewhere tonight.”
He went on to say that his parents are to thank — when times weren’t easy, they still always supported him.
“I feel really fortunate that I had supportive parents, first and foremost. I started playing when I was age 6, and my mom and dad were incredibly supportive of me and drove me to talent quests that I was entering in when I was 9 and 10 and 11. I left school at 15 and was playing five nights a week in a band, and my mom and dad supported that, too,” he said. “I was very fortunate to have parents that really believed in what I was doing. They could see I was going to do it forever.”
Well, that hard work and dedication definitely paid off! Did you love Keith’s performance, HollywoodLifers?
