Don’t mess with Mickey Rourke! ‘The Wrestler’ actor took part in an exhibition match in Moscow, Russia on Nov. 28, where he took on a 29-year-old professional boxer and won after not boxing in twenty years!
Mickey Rourke, 62, has still got it! The actor may not have stepped into the ring to fight in twenty years, but that didn’t stop him from knocking out his opponent, Elliot Seymour, 29 — who is a former Golden Gloves winner himself — on Nov. 28, in Moscow, Russia at Luzhniki Stadium.
Mickey Rourke Wins Boxing Match
Mickey may not have boxed in quite some time, but according to ABC News he had been preparing for the fight for quite some time — even dropping a whopping 35 pounds in preparation for the match.
The site reported that Mickey told Russian TV that the fight is helping him deal with some personal issues that he is currently dealing with. “I’ve got some things going on in my life so that (boxing has) sort of saved me from myself,” Mickey revealed. “And for a man like me, it’s better to live in fear than go on in shame.”
He also revealed that this is not his only fight and is planning on competing in four more in Russia. The site also dished that his dressing room was full of candles, images of saints and pictures of his recently deceased Chihuahua.
Elliot who hails for California and is a former Golden Gloves champion reportedly did not hit Mickey with any significant blows while several of Mickey’s hits were allegedly illegal.
Chris Pratt Feuds With Mickey Rourke Over Crying Baby
While Mickey may be on cloud 9 over his recent win, one of Hollywood’s biggest stars is not pleased with him. As HollywoodLife.com previously reported, Chris Pratt had an awkward run-in with the legendary actor after his young son, Jack, wouldn’t stop crying on a plane.
Chris told GQ, Mickey was “like ‘SHHHH!’ Like he’s the baby whisperer. Like he’s gonna get the baby to stop crying when the baby’s mother can’t, just by aggressively shushing the baby. Motherf–ker. I was like, ‘Damn, the f–kin’ ‘Wrestler’ shushed my baby.’”
