Ryan Knight passed away on Nov. 27. The MTV Real World and Challenge star was just 28 years old at the time of his unfortunate death. This is the second tragedy to hit the MTV family in just two weeks. Ryan’s friend and fellow MTV star Diem Brown died on Nov. 14.
Ryan appeared on the 24th season of Real World, set in New Orleans, alongside Jemmye Carroll, McKenzie Coburn, Preston O’Neil Roberson-Charles, Ryan Leslie, Sahar Dika, Ashlee Feldman and Eric Patrick.
Ryan, who often went by the nickname Knight, played hockey for the Kenosha Knights and the Fond du Lac Bears, however, he quit after suffering an injury to both of his shoulders. The reality star admitted he became addicted to painkillers and his substance abuse struggle, as well as his subsequent recovery, were featured on the MTV series.
On the Real World, Ryan dated his roommate Jemmye. Their on-again/off-again relationship carried through to many different iterations of the network’s Challenges.
Ryan was a very active user on social media and he tweeted as recently as this morning. His last message can be seen below:

Ryan was 27 at the time of his death. According to TMZ, a friend revealed Ryan choked on his vomit after a night of partying.
His passing comes shortly after the death of fellow MTV star Diem Brown, who lost her battle with cancer earlier this month.
