Duck Dynasty star Sadie Robertson, 17, successfully made it through the semi-finals on the Nov. 17 episode of Dancing With the Stars, but instead of being congratulated during an interview, the reality star was recently asked how she feels about the Duggars, a conservative Christian family similar to her own, following the 19 Kids & Counting family’s alleged ban of photos of same-sex couples kissing on their official Facebook page. Sadie’s feelings are quite shocking!
Despite the backlash the Duggars have recently received, Sadie is happy to be compared to the family. In fact, she thinks they’re “wonderful,” according to her interview with E! News.
“It doesn’t bother me at all,” she said. “I’ve actually met the Duggars once and they’re great people. So to be compared to them is actually an honor, not anything bad.”
Sadie may not care about the Duggars’ alleged anti-gay beliefs because her family shares the same morals. Duck Dynasty patriarch Phil Robertson was suspended from the A&E reality show, following a series of anti-gay remarks he made last year in GQ magazine. He compared homosexuality to beastiality.
After the Duggars allegedly removed a picture of a same-sex couple kissing from their official Facebook page, an online petition started, requesting the cancellation of their TLC reality series. (At this time, it has 43,000 signatures.)
Yet the allegations haven’t affected Sadie’s feelings.
“They’re wonderful people,” she added of the Duggars. “And I actually wish I could hang out with them more because we actually do have a lot of the same values so it’s cool to be compared to them.”
