Uh oh. The Duggar family have upset the LGBTQ community after allegedly ‘banning’ photos of same-sex couples kissing on their official Facebook page. Now, could their show be CANCELLED?
Are Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar about to lose their family’s reality television show? After they insulted the LGBTQ community on social media, fans decided to petition against the show, 19 Kids & Counting, demanding that TLC cancel it immediately.
’19 Kids & Counting’ Cancelled — Fans Petition Against Duggar Family
Say it isn’t so!
Is it true that we might be seeing the last of the Duggar family’s antics on their hit TV show, 19 Kids & Counting?
If fans — er, well, FORMER fans — of the show have it their way, it just might.
A new petition on Change.org has surfaced, and as of the date of this article — Nov. 19, 2014 — it had over 12,000 signatures. Yikes.
So, what have the Duggars done to upset viewers?
Fans happily participated, but when some of the same-sex couples realized that their pictures had been “removed” and/or “banned” from the page, outrage ensued. And, rightfully so.
Duggars Have Very Strict Religious Beliefs
It is no secret that the Duggars are notoriously religious and very passionate about their beliefs. However, it is the year 2014 — and same-sex marriages are not only accepted, but also legal in many of the 50 states.
Before we know it, it’ll be legal throughout the entire country — and that’s a wonderful, beautiful thing!
But, the LGBTQ community is NOT happy with the Duggar family, and rightfully so. Their response? Begging TLC to cancel the series because the family is promoting “fear mongering.”
“The Duggars have been using their fame to promote discrimination, hate, and fear-mongering against gays and transgendered people. You need to take a stand on the side of justice and cancel their show,” the petition reads.
When HollywoodLife.com reached out to TLC about the petition, they had no comment.
