You don’t have to wait for your life to be over. ‘Dawson’s Creek’ and ‘Gilmore Girls’ are reuniting in the same room at the same time — you can freak out now.
They say everything’s bigger in Texas — and apparently “they” were right. ATX Television Festival, happening in June 2015, just announced that the creative minds behind and some stars of Gilmore Girls and Dawson’s Creek are officially reuniting for the “Canceled Too Soon” panel!
‘Gilmore Girls’ Reunion
Gilmore Girls creator Amy Sherman-Palladino, as well as stars Lauren Graham (Lorelai) and Alexis Bledel (Rory), are officially heading to ATX TV Festival, and Lauren had an ever-so-Lorelai response. “There’ll be coffee, right? Can’t wait!”
“So, after years of peace and quiet, these lunatics have chosen to get the chattiest chicks in the world back under one roof? Really? Okay. You asked for it. Gilmore was the highlight of my ridiculous life,” Amy said in a statement. “I can’t wait to sit with these unbelievable broads and relive a time where sleep did not exist where stress and coffee were mama’s little helpers and where we all dove into the deep end together to make something weird and very, very cool.”
This will mark the 15th anniversary of the show’s debut.
‘Dawson’s Creek’ Minds Reuniting (& Are Now The Other Great Minds On TV)
As for Dawson’s Creek, no stars have signed on yet but since it’s all the creative minds behind it taking part in the fest’s first ever Writers’ Room Reunion panel, we have an idea that James Van Der Beek or Joshua Jackson may just make an appearance. This will include creator Kevin Williamson and showrunner Greg Berlanti, as well as producers/writers/assistants Julie Plec, Jenny Bicks Rob Thomas, Liz Tigelaar, Paul Stupin, Rina Mimoun,Maggie Friedman, Anna Fricke, Dana Baratta and Gina Fattore.
You probably recognize a good amount of those names since their the minds behind some of the best shows on now (or were on): The Vampire Diaries, Everwood, Witches of East End, you get the drill.
“Dawson’s Creek and Kevin Williamson changed my life and gave me a career,” Greg Berlanti said. “Nothing could be more exciting then to be back with so many people I respect and admire than my fellow writers from the show… and our amazing creator, Kevin.”
He changed my life too, Greg. The ATX Television Festival takes place on June 4-7, 2015 in Austin, Texas and basically, as Joey Potter would say, I’m utterly incapable of containing my excitement. Are you happy the shows are reuniting?
