Kelly Ripa has some amazing advice for her children, especially her daughter Lola who isn’t her ‘biggest fan’: ‘I’m your mom, not your friend.’ Well played, Kelly!
Kelly Ripa, 44, loves to discuss her personal life and her children while co-hosting Live! with Kelly & Michael, and her interviews are no different. During an appearance on The Wendy Williams Show, she revealed that her middle child, Lola Consuelos, 13, doesn’t like her very much. Ouch!
Kelly Ripa’s Daughter Lola Doesn’t Like Her: Here’s Why
Is Kelly’s advice for her children too harsh, or is it the perfect motto for a mom to have?
During a recent interview with Wendy Williams, Kelly opened up about the fact that her own teenage daughter, Lola, is not exactly her biggest fan. Unfortunately, this is probably only the beginning for Kelly!
“I don’t think she likes me, but I don’t care. I’m like, ‘I’m not your friend, I’m your mom,'” Kelly explained to the talk show host.
To further elaborate on her statement, she explained that she wants her daughter to understand that this is the real world.
“I just feel an obligation as her mom to keep her living in the real world. I don’t care who you are or what you do, if you’re a mom, you’re a mom.”
Well said, Kelly! Everyone has their own way of parenting their children, but it sounds like Kelly has really got her own kids figured out as they continue to grow.
One day, Lola will definitely appreciate — and maybe even emulate — her mom’s awesome take on keeping things “real.”
