It turns out Keira had a very good reason for baring her breasts on the cover of ‘Interview’ magazine — she wanted to take control of her body and prove that ‘size doesn’t matter’! Good for her!
Keira Knightley, 29, is speaking out about going topless in the September 2014 issue of Interview magazine and we couldn’t be more impressed with her explanation! The gorgeous actress agreed to put her less than ample chest on display on one condition — that the mag promised not to retouch her breasts one bit. We love it!
Keira Knightley On Posing Topless: Actress Was Sick Of Having Body Manipulated
Keira opened up about her bold decision in a new interview with The Times, saying, “I’ve had my body manipulated so many different times for so many different reasons, whether it’s paparazzi photographers or for film posters.” That’s why she decided this photo shoot would be different.
“That was one of the ones where I said, ‘OK, I’m fine doing the topless shot so long as you don’t make them any bigger or retouch.’ Because it does feel important to say it really doesn’t matter what shape you are.”
Keira is so right! And her words of wisdom didn’t end there. It sounds like the talented Imitation Game star really wants to get to the root of how and why women are being objectified in today’s world.
“I think women’s bodies are a battleground and photography is partly to blame,” she says. “Our society is so photographic now, it becomes more difficult to see all of those different varieties of shape.”
As HollywoodLife.com previously reported, Keira posed for famed photog Patrick Demarchelier for her Interview shoot, and it looks like he put her totally at ease.
Keira looks amazing on the cover, rocking nothing but a pair of dark pants and dark lace gloves! Get it, girl!
