Marvel released brand new footage of ‘The Avengers: Age Of Ultron’ during the Oct. 28 episode of ‘Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ — check it out!
After two-plus glorious minutes of The Avengers: Age Of Ultron was leaked on Oct. 22, even more was released on the Oct. 28 episode of Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. Has May 1 ever seemed so far away?! The new clip features a ton of action, as well as some preeetty adorable character moments. We’re obsessed — watch the footage!
‘The Avengers: Age Of Ultron’ Teaser From ‘Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ — Watch
In the clip, we see the Avengers chilling, sitting around and having a beer, when Tony (Robert Downey Jr.) insists on trying to lift Mjölnir. Of course, it’s not a matter of strength — only the worthy can lift it. Tony’s not above dirty tricks, even enlisting Rhodey (Don Cheadle), but it’s no use.
The actual best part of this scene was that Steve (Chris Evans) was able to nudge the hammer slightly, and Thor (Chris Hemsworth) looked panicked until it was clear that Steve wouldn’t be able to lift it entirely. Fellow nerds will note that, in the comics, Captain America does actually become worthy enough to lift Mjölnir. Crying over this.
Anyway, after that delightful scene, we get into the action. Ultron lays waste, Quicksilver moves real fast, Bruce is huddled in his t-shirt, and ballerinas dance. You get it. (It looks amazing.)
Many fans have noted that the ballerina scene hints at some Black Widow (Scarlett Johannsen) backstory. PLEASE.
‘The Avengers: Age Of Ultron’ Trailer Leak Blamed On Hydra
Marvel was initially set to premiere the full teaser trailer during the Oct. 28 episode of S.H.I.E.L.D.; however, the leak kind of threw a wrench in that. Marvel came out ahead of the leak by posting it online in full, playfully pinning the blame on Hydra, but the leak was fairly unprecedented for the studio which runs a pretty tight ship. We’re just saying — somebody is probably lying in a ravine right now for having crossed Marvel. (JK!)
After seeing the first bit of footage, was the second look a letdown? Or was it everything you were hoping for?
And in case you still don’t have enough Marvel in your life (as if you ever could), ABC will be airing an hour-long special called Marvel 75 Years: From Pulp to Pop! on Nov. 4 at 9:00pm.
The Avengers: Age Of Ultron hits theaters on May 1 — will you be seeing it, or do you hate things that are fun? Let us know, HollywoodLifers!
