Mama June’s daughter, Anna Marie Cardwell, has revealed she was molested as child. She’s also claiming that her mother’s alleged boyfriend Mark McDaniel was the one to take advantage of her as a child.
Anna Marie Cardwell, 20, one of Mama June’s four children, has confirmed she was a victim of child molestation at just 8 years old, and claims that her mother’s boyfriend at the time, Mark McDaniel, 53, molested her. Anna is speaking out about the situation and reveals how she feels about her mother possibly dating Mark again.
Mama June’s Daughter Molested: Anna Cardwell Confirms She Was A Victim
Anna claims that Mark would “would try and touch me and all that stuff” when she was just a child, according to People. At the time, Anna was only 8 years old.
Mama June’s daughter initially told RadarOnline about being molested as a child. She gave the outlet permission to reveal that she was a victim of Mark McDaniel, who is now a registered sex offender. Mark served 10 years in prison for aggravated child molestation. He was released on March 1, 2014, according to the outlet.
Anna says she tried telling her mother about the horrible situation, but Mama June wasn’t initially receiving to the shocking news.
“A week or so after it happened, I talked to Mama and she was upset, crying and saying, ‘I don’t believe you, I don’t believe you, why would you do this to me?’ ” Anna told People. “And I was like, ‘Mama, he did that to me and I can’t do anything about it. You were never there to see it you were always at work.”
Mama June claims she dumped Mark years ago, but photos have surfaced of Mama June and Mark together recently, and Anna admits she would be “hurt” if her mother was dating Mark again. Anna says that she and her mother have been working on mending their relationship in recent years.
Once reports of Mama June and Mark’s relationship made the news, TLC quickly pulled the plug on the hit reality show, Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.
“TLC has cancelled the series ‘Here Comes Honey Boo Boo’ and ended all activities around the series, effective immediately. Supporting the health and welfare of these remarkable children is our only priority. TLC is faithfully committed to the children’s ongoing comfort and well-being,” a spokesperson for the network told HollywoodLife.com.
