Nina Dobrev, 25, is young and so talented. She’s been the star of The Vampire Diaries for six seasons, juggling numerous roles, and a source reveals to HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that Nina wants to continue to grow as an actress and do more movies. Plus, it’s really bothering her that co-star and ex-boyfriend Ian Somerhalder, 35, is bringing new love Nikki Reed, 26, on the show set, so she’s been thinking ahead more than ever.
“Nina has been going to different premieres and been hanging out in Hollywood taking meetings because she wants to expand her career and move on from Vampire Diaries,” a source revealed EXCLUSIVELY to HollywoodLife.com.
“She really hoped that Let’s Be Cops would have been a bigger hit and more of a launching pad for her but it wasn’t. She knows that she could stay on Vampire Diaries forever because they will be on even longer than a show like Supernatural.”
As an up-and-coming actress, Nina aims to try new projects in both television and movies. It’s understandable that she’s ready to go beyond Vampire Diaries, considering she wants a big career. However, Ian’s relationship with Nikki may be pushing Nina more and more toward the big screen.
“She wants to make a splash in her career and do more movies,” our source continued. “As for Nikki and Ian’s relationship being the main reason, that would be only the reason to speed up things, but not the main thing, she just wants to grow as an actress.”
Nina’s been on The Vampire Diaries since the beginning. The show revolves around her character, Elena. However, now that Ian is bringing Nikki to set and flaunting their relationship, it’s shaking things up on set.
“Ian and Nikki’s relationship is causing a lot of drama, to the point where the producers have asked Ian not to bring Nikki to set when Nina is there because they are very worried about losing her,” a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “They worry that the show would fall apart without her.”
A show without Elena? We can’t even imagine!
