Rita is slowly making her transition from British pop princess to America’s new favorite singer — and she looks better than ever doing it! Up next, the star is on the cover of ‘Teen Vogue’ for November 2014, where she opened up about how she’s healing after a painful breakup.
In America Rita Ora, 23, may just seem like the girl who shows up to award shows in very odd clothing and sometimes we hear her collaborate with some of music’s biggest names — but other then that Rita seems to be a mystery to people in America. All of that is about to change. Rita graced this month’s issue of Teen Vogue to talk about her music, her future plans, and her breakup with one of music’s biggest stars, Calvin Harris, 30.
Rita Ora’s Calvin Harris Breakup Interview — Speaks Out In ‘Teen Vogue
Like any young girl in their twenties, Rita wants to be in love. For about a year she dated one of music’s hottest collaborators Calvin Harris. Calvin helped Rita put together her album that was slated to be her big American debut. The two collaborated on Rita’s hit song, “I Will Never Let You Down,” however, a few weeks after the song debuted the two went through an extremely public breakup. Just because her and Calvin endured splitsville, that doesn’t mean that Rita is swearing off men and love forever.
“Without complaining, without being moany, because this is what I have wanted to do all my life, I think it’s that people may forget I’m just a 23-year-old girl who wants to be in love,” Rita told the magazine. “And even though I live and breathe my job, I still want someone to want me. That’s how every girl feels,” she tells the mag.
Like any girl after a bad breakup, Rita asked herself the questions we have all asked ourselves at one point or another. “It’s like, Will I ever love someone as much as I loved that person?” she asked. “You will. You won’t forget how you felt, but you will love someone else again.”
Rita Ora’s ‘Teen Vogue’ Cover:
While Rita may be making a name for herself in the states with her interesting fashion choices, her look was completely toned down on the cover of the popular magazine. Rita appears in two different covers for the November issue. The first cover shows Rita giving off a more serious vibe with her hair in messy, beachy waves while rocking a black, brown, green and white camo jacket.
In her second look, Rita stepped away from the camo vibe and instead swaped it for a more sporty look. Rita can be seen sitting around other people at a picnic table while rocking a red letterman jacket with black leather sleeves. The pop princess kept her hair down and messy as she flashed the magazine her big smile. Her style for both looks was laid back and showed a more fun and simple side to Rita — and we loved it!
For more about the breakup, her music and her future plans pick up the November issue of Teen Vogue on newsstands Oct. 28.
