Actress Misty Upham is still missing, and the Auburn, Washington Police Department are still not classifying her unexplainable disappearance as an official missing-persons case! In an EXCLUSIVE interview with HollywoodLife.com, Misty’s mother speaks out about the Upham family’s devastating ordeal.
Misty Upham, 32, was last seen walking away from her sister’s apartment in Muckleshoot, Washington on Oct. 5. Misty’s mother, Mona Upham, has opened up to HollywoodLife.com in an EXCLUSIVE interview saying that the police have done little to help find her daughter, and that she is “disappointed” by their lack of action. What the family has to say is truly heartbreaking.
Misty Upham’s Parents Beg Police For Help In Finding Missing Daughter
“We are disappointed that the police are not doing more to help find Misty. Right now the only people looking for her are myself, my husband and son and daughter. I think if Misty was different-looking they would be doing a lot more to help find her,” Misty’s mom Mona tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY, adding that Misty’s Native American heritage may be part of the reason for the Auburn Police Department’s alleged inaction.
The ordeal even sent Misty’s father, Charles Upham, to the emergency room on Oct. 13 for fear of a possible stroke.
“She’s never done something like this before. We used to talk on the phone and see each other every day. We are very worried. I just took my husband to the ER to make sure he wasn’t having another stroke. He has not been sleeping and it’s all got to him,” Mona says. So sad.
Mona Upham: ‘I Think My Daughter Is Alive And Needs Help’
“I think my daughter is alive and needs help,” Mona says. “We don’t have the money to hire a private investigator. We are putting up signs and calling the local hospitals every day. She only has ID with her. She didn’t take any credit cards or a bank card, so it’s so difficult to know where she had been. Has someone taken her? We are praying for more help to find out daughter. We desperately need help and want the police to take this seriously.”
The actress was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award for her role in 2008’s Frozen River, and has a part in the new Jennifer Aniston movie Cake. Misty suffers from bipolar disorder and her medication was recently changed, making her parents even more worried for her safety.
If YOU have any information on Misty’s disappearance, the family requests that you contact the Auburn Police Department at (253) 288-2121 or her father at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We continue to send our thoughts and prayers for Misty’s safe return to her family.
