Poor Amanda Bynes. After fleeing New York City for Los Angeles on Oct. 10, her parents placed her under a 5150 psychiatric hold. A source reveals to HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that Amanda’s parents are ‘worried sick’ over her behavior.
Amanda Bynes, 28, may finally be getting the help she needs after weeks of increasingly bizarre behavior — the actress has been placed under involuntary psychiatric hold, reports TMZ. On Oct. 10, Amanda fled NYC for LA, where she was met with a car service arranged by her parents which took her directly to a Pasadena hospital.
Amanda Bynes Hospitalized: Psychiatric Hold Placed On Actress By Parents
Amanda thought that the car meeting her at LAX would be taking her to the London Hotel where she believed her parents and their lawyer, Tamar Arminak, would be waiting.
Instead, the car took her to a hospital where doctors placed her under a 5150 psychiatric hold, says TMZ. The hold will last for 72 hours, but may be extended to as long as 14 days. In the meantime, Amanda’s parents will seek another conservatorship.
While Amanda’s parents were previously in denial about Amanda’s bizarre behavior, their intervention clearly means that they’re ready to face the reality of their daughter’s situation.
Amanda Bynes: ‘Parents Are A Complete Emotional Wreck’
As you can see in the video to the right, Amanda arrived at LAX rambling in front of photographers about her father and her millions of dollars. Earlier on Oct. 10, Amanda claimed that her father sexually abused her as a child. She later retracted her statements, saying that the microchip in her head made her say those things.
“Her parents are a complete emotional wreck,” a source close to the family reveals to HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “They are looking for any avenue to save their daughter. It is extremely sad.”
Our thoughts go out to Amanda and to the rest of her family. We hope that she receives the help she needs.
