Teresa has said she is everything from ‘shocked’ to ‘scared’ to ‘sorry’ following her jail sentencing on Oct. 2. But now in a brand new interview, the ‘RHONJ’ linchpin reveals why she’s actually ‘grateful’ for her 15-month jail sentence.
Teresa Giudice, 42, is definitely devastated that she will be locked up and away from her four young daughters for more than a year, but she has managed to find a silver lining on the dark cloud of disgrace that hangs over her family — and believe it or not, it has to do with her husband, Joe Giudice, 42.
Teresa Giudice On Prison Time: Why She’s ‘Grateful’ For Jail Sentencing
While Teresa does her time behind bars, her husband, Joe, will have the opportunity to bond with his daughters prior to his 41-month-long sentence in federal prison. Teresa tells Us Weekly that while she’s serving her time, “The bond between my children and their father, Joe, my honey, will grow stronger and stronger. And that is something I will be grateful for.”
But the reality star hasn’t always felt so “grateful” during the endless emotional roller coaster that has played out in public ever since the couple’s indictment.
After Teresa and Joe’s Oct. 2 sentencing, they sat down with Andy Cohen, 46, for a special episode of Watch What Happens Live on Oct. 6. It was then that Teresa revealed how surprised she was to learn that she would be serving jail time. “I thought my lawyer was going to fight for me,” she said.
Teresa also opened up about how she felt in court during the special. “I was so nervous that I was shaking, my nerves were pulling,” she said. “At one point I couldn’t move my hands, my nerves were shot. I’ve had sleepless nights. I was shocked, I mean it was very unexpected, I really don’t know what to say.”
Teresa Giudice ‘Heartbroken’ Over Daughters’ Reaction To Jail Time
While Teresa’s perspective on her prison sentence has evolved over the past week, she has been consistent about one concern: her four daughters. Our hearts go out to Gia, 13, Gabriella, 10, Milania, 8, and Audriana, 5.
We hope that they have a strong support system to get them through this difficult time.
