Gwen Stefani & Gavin Rossdale Team Up For ‘The Voice’
Gavin Rossdale joins his wife Gwen Stefani on The Voice battle rounds, which kick off on Monday, Oct. 13.
The other Season 7 mentors are Little Big Town on Blake Shelton‘s team, Alicia Keys on Team Pharrell, and Stevie Nicks who will be helping out Adam Levine‘s team. Taylor Swift joins the show on Oct. 27, as the Season 7 key advisor.
Although Gavin’s addition to the show has been known for a while, Gwen proudly announced the news on the final episode of the blind auditions and she was beaming with excitement. So cute!
Gwen Stefani Was Nervous To Collaborate With Gavin Rossdale
Now, Gwen is pumped to have Gavin join her team, but before the deal was done, she had second thoughts.
“I have to tell you I went back and forth about having Gavin on because we have only collaborated on babies before,” Gwen joked at a press conference, telling HollywoodLife.com and reporters about her new mentor. “He breeds well.”
“I think that I was really nervous about just coming on the show and doing something so different, and I didn’t know what it was going to be, and when the mentor comes on, it’s right away,” Gwen said. “So I was really overwhelmed that Gavin was actually going to be on with me, and we got in a little fight about it the night before because I was like, ‘I don’t know if I can handle this. It’s just too much.’ Then I slept on it, and in the morning I said, ‘You know what, let’s do this. It’s going to spice things up. Like this is new. Like let’s do something collaborative. Why not?’ And it was awesome.”
The mother-of-three (she and Gavin are parents to boys Kingston, Zuma and Apollo) admits that she was super nervous being around her husband on the show “because I was sitting next to him because he’s smart. He’s so musical, and I just didn’t know — you know, you play different roles for different people in your life, and I’m his wife, so it was weird, but it was awesome….We haven’t seen the cut together, but it will be cute.”
