‘The Real Housewives Of New Jersey’ star, Teresa Giudice was sentenced to 15 months behind bars on Oct. 2, despite making an emotional plea begging to be spared jail time for the sake of her four daughters.
Such a sad day for the Giudice’s. On Oct. 2, Teresa Giudice, 42, and Joe Giudice, 42, were sentenced after pleading guilty in March 2014 to 41 counts of fraud that included being accused of engaging in bank, mail and wire bankruptcy fraud. The mother of four beautiful daughters will serve 15 months in jail while Joe is set to serve 41 months in federal prison.

Despite an extremely emotional plea where Teresa told the judge, “I’m more sorry, than you will ever know” the mother of daughters, Gia, Gabriella, Milania, and Audriana, will serve 15 months behind bars.
Meanwhile, Joe has been sentenced to spend 41 months behind bars in federal prison and pay a $414,588 restitution fee that is due immediately.
Before hearing her fate the North Jersey newspaper reports that Teresa read an emotional letter to the court. “I fully take responsibility for my actions,” she said. ” I deeply love my family… My four daughters are my life.” She told the judge, “I wrote this last night because I knew I was going to be nervous… “I’m scared, I’m not going to deny it, I’m really scared.”I have heard you. I need to live to do things for myself,” she read. “It’s time for me to wake up… I will make this right no matter what it takes.”
People reports that the Judge told Teresa, “You’re a devoted mother. You have no criminal history. You’ve paid your taxes.” she said. “Those girls need their mother at this critical age in their lives. There’s a bond between a mother and a daughter.”
The site also reports that the Judge said that Teresa will serve her sentence first, followed by Joe who is facing, “imminent deportation” following his sentence.
The Judge reportedly told Teresa, “For a moment I thought about probation … but I think a period of confinement is absolutely necessary in this case,” the judge said to Teresa. “I don’t honestly believe that you understand or respect the law. I need to send a message. In the eyes of the law it doesn’t matter who you are. There are consequences to pay.”
After Joe was sentenced earlier in the day on Oct. 2, ABC reports that U.S. District Court Judge Esther Salas said, “I do wish you luck. You have made some serious mistakes and you have to pay for them. But you have a lot to live for.”
The judge also gave the couple some advice. “Your four daughters need to understand discipline. If you don’t have it you shouldn’t spend it,” she said. “If they won’t like you because you’re not driving a Benz or walking on Jimmy Choos or Manolo Blahniks then they’re not your friends.”
As HollywoodLife.com previously reported, the couple’s legal issues began back in 2009 when the couple first filed for bankruptcy. Since then things have escalated and they were charged in July 2013 on a number of counts of fraud. This charge included Joe’s failure to file a tax return from 2004-2008.
On Monday, October 6th at 9pm ET/PT there will be a special “Watch What Happens Live: One-on-One with Teresa and Joe” with host Andy Cohen, who sits down with Teresa and Joe Giudice for their first interview post-sentencing.
