‘Dancing With The Stars’: Mark Ballas Exclusive Blog — Season 19 Week 3
It’s only week three and the tens are already flowing on Dancing With The Stars. Mark revealed that he’s actually shocked by the scoring so far — and once again, wow’d by Sadie’s ability to get down! The pair totally rocked the Viennese Waltz to a song from Disney’s Up. While they received four 8’s, they actually didn’t think that was good enough (and we agree!).
Really proud of Sadie tonight! I thought her technique was great; I was really impressed with her frame, considering it was her first ballroom dance. I was a little underwhelmed and disappointed in the scoring. Carrie Ann Inaba said it was one of her favorites of the night, but then scored the same as everyone else. I felt like it could have been 9’s across the board.
I was very impressed with Tommy Chong, I thought he did wonderfully. So cool to see how well he moves, especially at his age. It’s amazing and just goes to show that dance has no age. I was also really impressed with Derek Hough and Bethany Mota. What a great rendition of “Singing In The Rain” – not easy shoes to fill! I also thought Val Chmerkovskiy and Janel Parrish did a great job.
It was a little early in the season, in my opinion, for 10’s. I’ve never seen 10’s this early in the competition, but I felt that the dances that got them definitely earned them. I would have given those dances 10’s, too! But I was surprised that the judges gave them out this early in the season.
Sad to see Randy Couture go home- he was one of my favorite people on the show. I’m a huge UFC fan, and I’ve followed his career for many years. I hope he stays in touch!
I thought Kevin Hart did a great job as a guest host. He was very funny, enthusiastic, and charismatic. He has some rhythm, too! I was definitely impressed by that! He would be a great contestant on the show – maybe he should come and do next season!
Again, really impressed with Sadie, and so proud of her! I was really pleased with the set and costumes – I thought production really nailed the set, and wardrobe did a fantastic job in turning Sadie and I into Carl and Ellie!
Until next week,
HollywoodLifers, keep coming back every Tuesday for a behind the scenes exclusive look at Mark and Sadie’s DWTS journey!
