Right off the bat, Randy Couture & Karina Smirnoff were told they were in jeopardy. And that they would be dancing first. They danced the paso doble to a song from Rocky. “I hate to start this way but what happened to that strong, charming, leading man from week 1? For me, I though it was lacking,” Julianne Hough said. “The timing was behind,” Bruno Tonioli said. Carrie Ann Inaba said she thought he upped the intensity, which she appreciated. They got a score of 26 out of 40.
Next up, Alfonso & Witney were told they were safe. Then, Betsey & Tony were also told they were safe!
Alfonso Ribeiro & Witney Carson danced the quickstep to music from Austin Powers. “Dr. Evil is very pleased,” Bruno laughed. “I am so impressed with you. You were totally smooth,” Carrie Ann said. “You murdered that. You did that amazingly! I take my hat off to you!” Kevin Hart, in for Len Goodman, said. They got a 32!
Betsey Johnson & Tony Dovolani danced contemporary to a song from Ghost. “You tell that 21-year-old girl I just saw I got the hots for her. There was a moment where Betsey hit the floor in a split — you just dropped it like it’s hot,” Kevin said. Carrie Ann said she needs to point her toes. “No one can bend it like Betsey,” Bruno said. They got a 29, including a 9 from Kevin Hart!
Then, more results:
Michael & Emma were announced as safe! (What?!) Sadie & Mark were told they were safe. Lea & Artem were also told they were safe!
Antonio & Cheryl were told they were in jeopardy.
Lea Thompson & Artem Chigvintsev danced the Cha Cha to “Power Of Love” from her hit movie Back To The Future. “You looked happy while you were dancing and that’s what this dance is all about,” Kevin said. “Overall, I just want to congratulate you on each number you do each week,” Julianne said. Bruno said she has versatility, which is very important. “Unfortunately, I think this was not your best dance at all. You looked very uncertain on your feet,” Carrie Ann said. They got a 31.
Next, Michael Waltrip & Emma Slater danced the waltz to a song from Robin Hood. “That was your best dance ever! So good! I’m so proud of you,” Julianne raved! Bruno said it was well done. “I was mesmerized. I was totally pulled into your world,” Carrie Ann said. They got a 28!
Antonio Sabato Jr. & Cheryl Burke danced the Foxtrot to a song from Guardians Of The Galaxy. “The confidence is there but I need you to breathe when you dance. I need you to be more natural,” Carrie Ann said. “Boo!” Kevin replied. They got a score of 29 out of 40!
Sadie Robertson & Mark Ballas danced the Viennese Waltz to a song from Disney’s Up. “So far tonight, that was my favorite dance!” Carrie Ann said. Kevin said it was seamless and flawless! “The storyline and the choreography, Mark, you did such a great job,” Julianne praised. Bruno said he was “totally and utterly charmed.” They got a 32!
More Movie Night Dances
Janel & Val, Bethany & Derek and Tommy & Peta were all told they were safe!
Jonathan Bennett & Allison Holker were told they were in jeopardy. They danced the tango to a song from The Great Gatsby. “You owned that moment. I was wrapped into it. Good job, start to finish,” Kevin said. Julianne said Jonathan needs to work on his frame a bit. They got a score of 32!
Janel Parrish & Val Chmerkovskiy danced jazz to “West Side Story.” They encountered a bit of a problem when the producers said they couldn’t have any of the moves from the movie in their routine! But nevertheless, they killed it! They got a standing ovation from the judges! “What just happened? I felt like I was watching a full on Broadway show!” Julianne said, and added that this was going to help her career. “My darling! This is your star-making turn! Miss America! Bravo!” Bruno said. They got a perfect score of 40, the highest score of the night and the season!
Tommy Chong & Peta Murgatroyd danced the Argentine Tango to a song from “Scent Of A Woman.” Bruno said: “The Argentine Tango is about a story and the story couldn’t have been better told.” Carrie Ann said “it was like watching Yoda dance,” and she meant that as a compliment! They got a score of 34, including a 10 from Kevin Hart!
Bethany Mota & Derek Hough danced jazz to “Singing In The Rain.” “Mission impossible? Mission complete!” Carrie Ann raved. “Bethany, I know the wrath of Derek. I know the pressure, so I want to say well done. You didn’t miss a step. Tonight, you really became a woman in my eyes,” Julianne said. They got a 40, another perfect score!
