Amal Alamuddin & George Clooney’s Wedding Day Details
At 8pm, George and Amal began their wedding inside the Aman Canal Grande Hotel. The ceremony ended just 18 minutes, later an insider told Us Weekly, but just because it was short doesn’t mean it wasn’t sweet.
The couple reportedly held hands and said personal vows they wrote, under an arch of imported white roses. So cute!
Afterward, the party started in the huge room, which was filled with chandeliers, candelabras, white roses and 20 modern art paintings that Amal had chosen! Attendees, including Anna Wintour, Bill Murray and Emily Blunt, listened to a small string orchestra, followed by a jazz trio and a pianist, during their five-course meal made by Italian chef Riccardo De Pra. Lobster, risotto, sea bass, and beef, were all on the menu.
The party didn’t end until almost 5am, the insider said. At that time, the newlyweds headed to the Alcova Tiepolp suite. Sounds like the perfect romantic night!
Amal and George headed to town hall in Venice just two days later to make it official with a simple civil service. Of course, the couple arrived in the small boat they had been using all weekend, which had the word “Amore” painted on the side — which is the italian word for “love.”
We’ve got to say, while we’re bummed that our favorite bachelor is off the market, Amal looked absolutely stunning and they’re both extremely lucky! Congrats to the happy couple!
