We’re all still mourning over the death of Will Gardner, but could Josh Charles return in some form or another in season six? HollywoodLife.com chatted with one of the stars of the show, and that answer is yes!
The death of Will Gardner (Josh Charles) was the defining moment of The Good Wife season five. While we’re still hoping Will had a long lost twin who died in that courtroom, could Josh be returning to The Good Wife on or off camera? The show’s own Ben Rappaport dished to HollywoodLife.com all about that possibility!
‘The Good Wife’: Josh Charles Returning In Season 6?
“I know he’s coming back,” Ben told HollywoodLife.com.
“I’m not sure which one [show] he is directing. I know he’s coming back this season.”
Josh has directed three previous episodes of the show, and it looks like he’ll be back for more!
If Josh continues to come back to direct episodes, maybe he’ll be inspired to reappear on screen! If Will Gardner graced our TV screens in the form of a flashback or alternate reality, we would definitely have a serious freakout.
‘The Good Wife’ Season 6’s ‘Renewed Energy’
We all remember where we were and what we were doing when Will Gardner was fatally shot in season five. We’ll never forget his last call to Alicia and her constant wonder over what he wanted to say.
The show was able to bounce back better than ever after the death of such a pivotal character, and Ben told HollywoodLife.com about the “renewed energy” on set.
“It was really exciting and you could really feel a sense of renewed energy on set,” Ben revealed HollywoodLife.com. “Everyone was really excited about the writing and the fans were really on it, especially when Josh Charles exited. I think they were taken aback but also really excited by the reaction. There was a renewed interest in the show.”
The Good Wife airs on Sundays at 9/8 ET.
HollywoodLifers, do you think Josh Charles should return? Do you want him to direct more episodes or reappear onscreen? Let us know!
