‘The Voice’ Season 7: Gwen Stefani Is The Coolest & Most Laid Back Judge
The seventh season of ‘The Voice’ premiered on Sept. 22, and there were two new judges: Gwen and Pharrell. I knew Pharrell would be smooth but I wasn’t too sure what to expect from Gwen. I’ve always loved her music and style but could she cut it as a judge alongside all guys? What happened next, left me shocked.
Gwen Stefani is a badass. The 44-year-old looked gorgeous but part of me thought she’d pull a Britney Spears. Remember when Brit was a judge on X-Factor? She rarely gave a strong opinion and I was worried that Gwen would do the same thing. Boy was I wrong. She knew exactly what she wanted and she had no problem being brutally honest with the contestants.

Gwen not only looked fierce she gave the guys a run for their money. She was ribbing them and managed to really show the world that she knows exactly what she’s talking about. She kept saying she was looking for a unique sound and that’s exactly what she got.
She told one girl, Megg, who openly said that Gwen was her idol, that she just didn’t have the chops to last on the show. But then Gwen ended up getting Bryana Salaz, 16, and Taylor John Williams to join her team and she came prepared with adorable Team Gwen t-shirts to hand out!
Gwen & Pharrell’s Chemistry Was Awesome
It was also really cool to see her joking with Pharrell throughout most of the show. They sat right next to each other, in their big red chairs, and constantly made funny comments to each other and were so complimentary of one another. In case you didn’t know, they’ve worked together in the past. Pharrell wrote her hit song, “Hollaback Girl,” in 2005 and it was one of the year’s most popular songs.
Gwen can really hang with the guys. She said herself during the show that she’s used to being around guys, since she has three sons, she’s married to Gavin Rossdale, and she’s the only girl in her band, No Doubt!
I really think Gwen is going to steal the show this season and I bet her team wins the whole thing!
